Another reason to visit Peru...the Food!
Peru has been accused of having the best food in South America!
And by no means do we have the intention of defending ourselves. The unique gastronomic heritage and blessed natural ingredients found around our country allows us to offer a unique blend of local exotic dishes with international standards.
If you join a Peru tour you should make sure you plan enough opportunities to dine around either Lima or Cuzco. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Do not despair if you do not have enought time in this cities.
Chef Gastón Acurio is expanding his award winning cuisine to several new restaurants around Peru and worldwide and is creating 3 new gastronomic brands.
La Mar a ceviche specialty restaurant will open new locations in Miami & Los Ángeles (both in USA),
Tanta will now have venues in Panama, Buenos Aires (Argentina) &
Barcelona (Spain). Finally the anticuchería Panchita will have a new base in Santiago de Chile.
New concepts include the brand Gringacho, “a restaurant with exgringa cuisine”, a blend of Peruvian and several North American recipes. At the same time he is working on Baochiche, a blend of Italian-Peruvian cuisine to be opened soon in Miraflores (Lima). He will also create Gaucholo, where there will be a blend of Argentinian and Peruvian delicacies.
For those without enough time in Lima and Cusco, Tanta will open doors in Pueblo Libre, Magdalena, Jesús Maria, La Molina (all of these in the Lima province) and in the touristic cities of Arequipa, Trujillo and Cajamarca.
Gastón Acurio is perhaps the major exponent of Peruvian cuisine worldwide. His cuisine has earned him great recognition and is famous for the fusion of Peruvian flavours and international favourites.
