The government of Peru has enforced strict regulations for visitors, limiting the amount of people wanting to enter the ruins at Machu Picchu every day. We consider this to be a great effort towards the conservation of the ancient Machu Picchu ruins.

UNESCO has recommended the amount of visitors allowed each day to enter the citadel be reduced, the Peruvian authorities have listened and placed restrictions that limit the amount of daily visitors to 2,500 people per day. As of July 20th, 2011, the Inca ruins will have less visitors every day. This is a positive move towards the present and future visitors experience. It does limit the amount of people who can see the ruins and the Machu Picchu citadel each day, but it guarantees it will be preserved in benefit of long term tourism use of the archaeological site.

The travel experience of visiting Machu Picchu will be enhanced by this new regulation. Less people, less crowds, better pictures and a cleaner concience for visitors. The limit will ensure that your visit is enjoyable and enhances the spiritual touch Machu Picchu has over its visitors. The views are amazing from the ruins, you get to admire the Andes scenery as you are surrounded by mountains and enjoy the mistery of how the city was built in such a remote location. Many visitors consider their trip to Machu Picchu to be an awakening, allowing for meditation and reflection upon the Inca mastery, even the mountains pay tribute by outlining the face of the Inca looking up into the sky.

At Voyagers, we are happy and share the ethos that Machu Picchu is a unique destination and your trip there should be unique as well. Privacy is one of the most important factors, ample time to explore the ruins, and your own private moment to feel the energy found at Machu Picchu. During your visit your guide will highlight the work of the Incas, will explain the cultural roots of Incas and give a full insight of the purpose of the citadel.

To make the most of your visit and assure your entrance to the ruins, Voyagers encourages travelers to make their reservations in advance, having a pre-booked ticket to the ruins can ensure your entrance and avoid dissapoinments. When you book a trip to Machu Picchu with Voyagers we purchase your tickets at Aguas Calientes in advance and leave out any unwanted surprises.

Our programs are tailored to your travel needs, we focus on your private view of the perfect experience, you can combine your visit to Machu Picchu with a few days stay in Aguas Calientes to enjoy the hot springs or have a second visit of the site at dawn, a stay in Cusco or in the Sacred Valley will also enhance your trip.

An example trip is our 6 day INCA VOYAGE, a short itinerary that allows for a leisurely visit to Machu Picchu and allows for flexibility to combin pre and post tours to other important sites in Peru (Amazon rainforest, Arequipa, Nazca Lines) or even an expedition cruise to the Galapagos Islands
